WSB Radio Advertisers List

advertising agency services pdf

WSB (750 kHz), Atlanta's commercial AM station, is also known as WSB. It is the Cox Media Group's flagship radio station. They also own the local NBC, ABC and CBS television networks. Since the 1940s WSB had been the home of both the "Atlanta Braves", a local Major League Baseball team, as also the University of Georgia Bulldogs Radio Network. WSB began as a separate entity in the early years with simple listening and popular music formats. It eventually evolved into a full-service broadcaster.

In the 1920s, a second entertainment wavelength was set aside by the Department of Commerce for local broadcasters. The NBC radio network's "Red Network" featured a variety of radio shows, dramas, sports and news. Although WSB wasn't part of the network, it was the first official television affiliate of NBC.

The WSB's impressive list of accomplishments is lengthy, but it's easy to forget that NBC’s red network was one among the most innovative networks in America. One of the most prominent and earliest examples is the WSB trademark three-tone NBC chimes. This was the first occasion such chimes were heard within the Atlanta region and could have had the largest impact on the popularity of NBC, NBC’s flagship television network. Notable also is the fact that WSB had the first "statewide TV news" program. This is something that no other local station has done. Wright Bryan, a war correspondent who reported on the D-Day Invasion, and Russ Spooner are other notable WSB alums.

WSB's list gimmicks include a wacky nickname and a slew TV-related accolades. WSB, for instance, is the second oldest TV station in the South, just behind Washington, D.C., as well as the second-oldest ever to go on the air in Atlanta. WSB-TV first aired on Channel 8 in September 1948. In 1980, WSB-TV was purchased by Cox. The station moved to Channel 2 and switched networks with WXIA TV. Another major coup for WSB was the acquisition by the Atlanta Hawks in 1995.

FAQ

What is an advertising buyer?

Advertisers buy advertising space on television, radio, and print media.

Advertisers are charged for the time their message will appear.

They don't necessarily want the best ad, but they are more interested in what is most effective at reaching their target audience.

An advertiser might have information specific to their potential customers such as age and gender, marital status or occupation, hobbies, interests, income, etc.

These data can be used to help advertisers decide the most effective medium. They might decide direct mail is more effective for older people.

Advertisers also look at the competition. Advertisers may decide to place their ads in close proximity to similar businesses.

In addition, advertisers consider the size of their budget and the amount of time they have to spend their money before it expires.

How do I choose my target audience?

Start with yourself and those close to you. If you don't know where to begin, ask yourself, "who am I trying to reach?"

These are some questions to ask yourself: Who is the most influential person in my industry? What are their daily problems? What are their top talents? Where can they be found online?

Rewind to the beginning, when your business was founded. Why did you begin? What problem were you able to solve and how did this happen?

These answers will allow you to determine who your ideal customers are. They will also reveal their personality and reasons for buying from them.

For clues on who your competitors cater to, check out their websites and social media pages.

Once you have identified the target customers, it is time to decide what channel(s) you want to use to reach them. An example: If you provide services to realty agents, you may create an informational website for home buyers.

You could create a blog if you offer software to small business owners.

If you sell clothing, you could create a Facebook page for teens. Or if you're a restaurant owner, you could set up a Twitter account for parents looking for kid-friendly places to eat.

You have many options to convey your message.

What is affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing is an internet business model in which you refer customers to other products and services. If someone buys from your product, you get paid by the owner.

Referrals are the foundation of affiliate marketing. You don't have to do anything special for people to buy from you. All they have to do is to refer them the website.

You don't have to sell anything. Selling is as easy as buying.

Even affiliate accounts can be set up in just minutes.

You will get more commission if you refer more people.

There are two types of affiliates:

  1. Affiliates who are the owners of their own websites
  2. Affiliates who work for companies that offer products and services.

Why not advertise your business on social media?

Social Media Marketing allows you to reach customers right where they are, via social networks like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube. You can also target specific segments within these networks with keywords.

This advertising method is much more affordable than traditional marketing methods because it costs less to market online. It also allows you to build strong relationships with your current and potential clients.

It is easy to use social media to promote your company. You only need a smartphone or computer and internet access.

Is there a way to get no cost traffic?

The traffic that is free comes from organic search results and does not require you to pay for ads. This type of traffic is known as organic traffic or natural traffic. There are many ways to get free traffic, such as article marketing, social media marketing, blogging, etc.

Article marketing is one of the most effective ways to get free traffic. This is because it has a very low cost per click (CPC). Paid ads have a higher CPC, but the CPC is typically much lower than paid ads. Article marketing is also called content marketing.

Social Media Marketing- You can promote your business using social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. You can use these platforms to post updates, share photos and build relationships with people who may become potential customers. Many businesses pay to advertise on social media sites because they want to reach more people at a cheaper price.

Blogging - Another great way to generate traffic is blogging. Quality content that is enjoyable to read will attract people. You can sell products and services once you have attracted visitors to your blog.

Email Marketing – Email marketing has been around ever since the dawn of the Internet. However, it remains one of your best methods to drive traffic to you website. It is a great way to increase your subscriber base and sell products.

What is branding?

Your brand is your way of communicating who you are as well as what you stand behind. It's how you make people remember you when they hear your name.

Branding is about creating a unique identity that distinguishes your company. A brand is more than just a logo. It includes everything from your physical appearance and the voice of employees.

Because they are confident they will get what they want, a strong brand can help customers feel more comfortable buying from you. It gives customers confidence when choosing your products over the ones of other competitors.

Apple is a prime example of a company with a strong brand. Apple is a well-known brand for its elegant design, high quality products and excellent customer service.

Apple's name has become synonymous for technology. People think of Apple whenever they see a computer or smartphone.

Before you launch a new business, it is worth creating a brand. This will give your business a face and personality.

What are your thoughts on television advertising?

Television advertising is a powerful medium to reach many people at one time. It was also very expensive. However, if you use it well, it can be incredibly powerful.

Although there are many types, TV ads share certain common characteristics. Planning any TV ad should start with ensuring it fits in its category. If you're running a product commercial, don't try to run a lifestyle commercial as a product commercial. Your message should be consistent across the entire campaign.

The second thing to remember is that the best time to air your ads is during prime-time hours. This is because viewers tend to watch TV while sitting down in front the television. You want them to be able focus on your words and not get distracted by the TV.

Last but not least, just because you have a lot of money does not mean that you will get great results. In fact, the opposite may be true. A study conducted by the University of California found that commercials aired during popular shows were less likely to sell products than those aired during unpopular shows. It is important to do the right thing if your TV advertising budget is large.
